In a Big 12 showdown, Bloomington emerged victorious over Champaign Central with a final score of 10-7. Despite the loss, Charlie Hobbs, Luke McClure, and Sam McArthur had standout performances at the plate for the Maroons.
Over in the Illini Prairie Conference, Paxton-Buckley-Loda dominated Rantoul with a commanding 10-0 win. Bryar Cosgrove and Tyler Cole led the charge with three hits each, while Charles Cambridge and Connor Vaughn also contributed with two hits apiece. The Panthers’ pitching duo of Cole and Luke Krumwiede combined for a stellar performance, culminating in a combined no-hitter.
Unity secured a 5-2 victory over St. Thomas More behind a stellar pitching performance from Brady Parr, who struck out 10 batters in a complete game effort. The Rockets’ offense was fueled by Brock Suding, Brayden Henry, and Coleton Langendorf, who each drove in runs to secure the win.
In softball action, Champaign Central blanked Peoria Notre Dame 4-0, with Tayten Hunter and Haley Helm leading the way both on the mound and at the plate. LeRoy also notched a dominant win, defeating Fieldcrest 13-2 behind Lilly Long’s impressive performance both on the mound and at the plate.
