Mizzou Makes Major Hire, Grizzlies Host Summer Basketball Camps, and Cardinals Game Recap
In a recent development, Mizzou has made a significant hire by bringing on Memphis AD Laird Veatch to the same position. Veatch, who has been the AD at Memphis since October 2019, previously worked at Mizzou from 1997-2002. This move is sure to bring a fresh perspective and new energy to the Mizzou athletic department.
Meanwhile, the West Plains Sunrise Rotary Club is gearing up for the 22nd Annual Tom Smith Sunrise Rotary Classic at North Terra Golf Course on Saturday, May 25. The golf tournament, which will be a 3-person scramble, promises cash prizes for the top three teams, as well as numerous hole prizes, including a 2024 Club Car Golf Cart sponsored by Clear Creek Golf Carts and Utility Vehicles. With free food and beverages on offer, this event is sure to be a hit with golf enthusiasts in the area.
On the sports front, the Grizzlies are set to host two Summer Basketball Camps, providing young athletes with the opportunity to hone their skills and learn from experienced coaches. Lastly, West Plains Zizzer Olivia Lawson will be signing a letter of intent to play basketball at John Wood Community College.
