Promising James Wins Pakistan Day Christian Community Snooker Championship Trophy

Promising James emerged victorious in a thrilling final showdown against Shamroz Waheed at the Pakistan Day Christian Community Snooker Championship held at the newly established Professional Snooker Club in Peshawar. The championship, which began on March 23, aimed to honor the sacrifices of the security forces and police personnel who have dedicated their lives to protecting Pakistan.

The final match was a nail-biting affair, with James ultimately prevailing over his formidable opponent with a score of 4-3 in the seven frames battle. Spectators were treated to a display of exceptional snooker skills, with James even managing to record a remarkable 102 break during the match.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Social and Human Rights Activist Mr. Augustin Jacob and Senior Sports Journalist Ijaz Ahmad Khan. The Head of the Club, Rajash Musa, along with a large number of spectators from the Christian Community, added to the excitement of the final match.

Mr. Augustin Jacob highlighted the importance of providing opportunities for healthy sports activities to the Christian youth, emphasizing the need to keep them engaged in positive pursuits. Despite facing financial challenges, the Christian community came together to support the establishment of the Snooker Club, showcasing their commitment to promoting sports among the youth.

In a gesture of appreciation, trophies and cash prizes were awarded to the winners and runners-up, with James taking home the winner’s trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000, while Waheed received the runners-up trophy and Rs. 5000. The success of the championship has paved the way for future sporting events, with plans underway to organize the first Christian Youth Sports Festival featuring a variety of disciplines.
