McInnes and Docherty Nominated for Manager of the Year Award

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes and his former assistant Tony Docherty are among the top contenders for the prestigious SPFL Manager of the Year award, alongside Falkirk boss John McGlynn.

McInnes, who has led Kilmarnock to the brink of European qualification, took over the club when they were in the Scottish Championship and has since transformed them into a top contender in the Scottish Premiership. Docherty, on the other hand, has guided Dundee to the top six in the league in his debut season as a manager.

Meanwhile, McGlynn’s Falkirk side secured the League One title in March and are on an unbeaten streak in the league, sitting comfortably ahead of their competitors.

In addition to the manager of the year award, Partick Thistle striker Brian Graham has been nominated for the SWPL1 Manager of the Year title, as well as the PFA Scotland Championship Player of the Year award. Graham led Thistle Women to the Sky Sports Cup final this season, showcasing his leadership skills both on and off the field.

The winners of these prestigious awards will be announced at the PFA Scotland awards dinner on Sunday night, where the football community will come together to celebrate the outstanding achievements of these talented individuals.

Billy Brown, chairman of the Managers and Coaches Association, commended the nominees for their exceptional performances throughout the season, highlighting their dedication and hard work in their respective roles. The competition for the awards is fierce, but each nominee has proven themselves to be deserving of recognition for their contributions to Scottish football.
