Recap of Week 2 of Source for Sports AAA Hockey Challenge
The Source for Sports AAA Hockey Challenge continued to showcase some exciting matchups in its second week, with teams battling it out for titles in three different divisions. The competition was fierce, and fans were treated to some thrilling games over the weekend.
In the 2013 Gold division, the Junior Maulers emerged victorious with an impressive 8-4 win over the MB AllStars 2013. Ezra Ellams led the way with four goals and an assist, while goaltender Jaxon Rausch stood tall with 21 saves. The MB AllStars put up a good fight, with Dryden Kuhl, Jackson Kippen, Reilly Cooke, and Xavier Daneault all finding the back of the net.
Meanwhile, in the 2013 Silver division, the Southeast Bruins continued their winning streak with a 7-4 victory over the Dead Horse HC. Tanner Preteau netted a hat-trick for the Bruins, while goaltender Zander Jowett made 14 saves to secure the win. Ridley Sambrook, Ethan Rutter, Dane Yeomans, and Dylan Peters scored for the Dead Horse HC in a hard-fought battle.
Lastly, in the 2012 Gold division, the Winnipeg Warriors came out on top with a thrilling 6-5 win over the Wheat City Wild. Brendan Bourgoin led the way with two goals and an assist, while Cruz Morin made 37 saves in net. Emmitt Bell and Mason Shorting McKay put up a strong effort for the Wheat City Wild, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Warriors.
With Week 3 of the tournament just around the corner, hockey fans can expect more exciting matchups and fierce competition as teams continue to battle for supremacy in the Source for Sports AAA Hockey Challenge.
