Leeds Rhinos Beat Hull FC 18-12: Riley Lumb Shines on Debut

Riley Lumb Shines in Leeds Rhinos’ Victory Over Hull FC

In a thrilling match at the MKM Stadium, Riley Lumb made a spectacular debut for Leeds Rhinos, scoring two first-half tries to lead his team to an 18-12 victory over struggling Hull FC. Lumb, who came on for the injured David Fusitu’a, showcased his talent and skill with two impressive solo efforts that left the Hull defense in tatters.

The game started with Hull taking an early lead through Morgan Smith, but Lumb quickly responded with a dazzling individual try to level the score. He then added another try before half-time to put Leeds ahead. Cam Smith and Rhyse Martin also contributed to Leeds’ lead, but Hull fought back with a try from Lewis Martin to keep the game close.

This win comes as a relief for Leeds, who had suffered two consecutive home losses prior to this match. The victory also eases some of the pressure on head coach Rohan Smith, who has faced scrutiny over his position in recent weeks. On the other hand, Hull FC’s woes continue as they suffer their seventh straight competitive loss, remaining just above the London Broncos in the Betfred Super League standings.

Despite the loss, Hull showed improvement in their performance, especially after conceding 50 or more points in four of their last five games. The team will be looking to build on this display as they prepare to face Warrington Wolves in their next fixture.

Riley Lumb’s standout performance earned him the Player of the Match award, and the young winger expressed his delight at making his debut and contributing to the team’s victory. With his impressive display, Lumb has certainly made a strong case for more playing time in the upcoming matches.

Leeds Rhinos will face London Broncos next, while Hull FC will take on Warrington Wolves in their next fixture. Fans can catch all the Betfred Super League action live on Sky Sports or stream it with NOW.
