Controversy Surrounds Miami Grand Prix as Trump Donor Receives Cease And Desist
The 2024 Formula 1 season is set to make its debut in the United States this weekend with the highly anticipated Miami Grand Prix. While all eyes will be on Red Bull’s Max Verstappen as the favorite on the track, off-track drama is already brewing.
In a surprising turn of events, race organizers have sent a cease and desist letter to Steven Witkoff, a major fundraiser, for allegedly using his Paddock Club Rooftop Suite for a political purpose. The fundraiser had advertised a trip to the race in a suite that was intended to be an event for former US President Donald Trump. However, the Washington Post reports that the fundraiser has now been canceled following the letter.
The action-packed race weekend kicks off on Friday with the first practice session at 12:30 p.m. ET, followed by qualifying for Saturday’s sprint race at 4:30 p.m. The sprint race is scheduled for noon on Saturday, with qualifying for the main feature race at 4 p.m. The feature race will then take place at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Verstappen, who has been dominating the season with four wins out of five races, will be looking to continue his winning streak in Miami. The only race he did not finish was the Australian Grand Prix due to a mechanical failure.
With the excitement building both on and off the track, the Miami Grand Prix promises to be a thrilling event for Formula 1 fans in the United States. Stay tuned for all the action and drama as the world’s top drivers battle it out on the streets of Miami.
