USC Women’s Basketball Goes All-In with Talia von Oelhoffen Commitment
The USC women’s basketball team is making big moves in pursuit of a national title in the upcoming season, with the addition of Oregon State transfer point guard Talia von Oelhoffen. Von Oelhoffen’s commitment to USC comes on the heels of star player Kiki Iriafen’s transfer from Stanford, solidifying the Trojans as a powerhouse team to watch in 2024-25.
Von Oelhoffen, a talented ball-handler and facilitator, brings a wealth of experience and skill to the USC roster. As a junior at Oregon State, she averaged 10.7 points per game and 5.0 assists, earning two All-Pac-12 selections and helping lead her team to the Elite Eight this past season. With her addition, USC gains a veteran point guard to fill the void left by graduate senior Kayla Padilla’s departure.
Head coach Lindsay Gottlieb’s rebuild at USC is gaining momentum, with Von Oelhoffen joining a roster already overflowing with talent. The Trojans now boast a starting lineup that rivals any in the country, with Von Oelhoffen running the point, JuJu Watkins at shooting guard, Kennedy Smith on the wing, Iriafen and Rayah Marshall in the frontcourt.
Von Oelhoffen’s commitment not only strengthens USC’s on-court performance but also provides valuable leadership for a group of talented incoming freshman guards. With five-star recruits Kayleigh Heckel and Avery Howell, along with four-star Rian Forestier, waiting in the wings, the Trojans are poised for success both now and in the future.
Gottlieb’s vision of USC competing for a national championship is becoming more tangible with each new addition to the roster. As the Trojans gear up for the upcoming season, all eyes will be on Von Oelhoffen and her impact on the team’s quest for glory on the national stage.
