Meet Ashley Kerr: The Accomplished Gymnastics Coach and Wife of NBA Coach Mark Daigneault

The basketball world is abuzz with the news of Mark Daigneault being named the NBA Coach of the Year, but who is the woman behind this successful coach? Meet Ashley Kerr, the wife of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s head coach.

Ashley Kerr, a native of Plant City, Florida, has been making waves in the sports world as an assistant coach at the University of Oklahoma since 2020. With a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida and master’s degrees in sports management and Arts in Telecommunication, Kerr brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her coaching role.

Kerr’s coaching skills have been instrumental in the success of the women’s gymnastics team at OU, where she helped lead the Varsity squad to first place finishes in 2018 and 2019. Her background as a collegiate athlete with the Florida Gators from 2007 to 2010 has also shaped her coaching style, earning her accolades such as a spot on the NCAA Scholastic All-American Team and the SEC Academic Honour Roll.

In addition to her coaching duties, Kerr has also been recognized for her leadership off the court, becoming the chair of the UF Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and receiving the UF Alumni Association’s Exceptional Leadership Award in 2010.

Away from the gym and the basketball court, Kerr is a proud mother to a son named Alex John Daigneault, whom she shares with her husband Mark.
