Lindsey Vonn Joins US SailGP Team Board of Directors as Season 4 Continues in Bermuda
The SailGP sports league is gearing up for its next event in Bermuda on May 4-5, and the US SailGP Team is making waves with a new addition to their board of directors. American former alpine ski racing star Lindsey Vonn has joined the team, bringing her impressive athletic background and business acumen to the table.
Vonn, a three-time Olympic medalist and eight-time world championship medalist, expressed her excitement about getting involved with the team. “As a Red Bull partner for nearly two decades, I’ve had the pleasure of sailing with Red Bull and that experience engaged my interest in sailing and encouraged my decision to get involved,” said Vonn. “The energy and vision of the team aligns with the drive I have felt in my career, so I am extremely grateful and excited to take part.”
The US SailGP Team, which has seen changes in ownership recently, is looking to leverage Vonn’s expertise to tap into new audiences and expand their fanbase. CEO Mike Buckley praised Vonn, calling her “one of the greatest athletes of all time” and highlighting her success both on and off the mountain.
The team’s new ownership group, led by Ryan McKillen and Margaret McKillen, sees Vonn’s addition as a strategic move to elevate the team’s profile and reach. With four events already under their belt in Season 4, the US SailGP Team is looking to climb the rankings and make a splash in the upcoming races.
As the team prepares for the Bermuda event, fans can expect thrilling racing action and a competitive atmosphere as the top teams battle it out on the water. Stay tuned for more updates on the US SailGP Team and their quest for success in the SailGP sports league.
