Riverside Tennis Club: Leading the Way in Junior Tennis Development
Riverside Tennis Club Makes History as First LTA Youth Recognised Venue in Wiltshire
Riverside Tennis Club has made history by becoming the first club in Wiltshire to be named as an LTA Youth Recognised Venue. This prestigious recognition is a testament to the club’s commitment to delivering an excellent junior programme that offers high-quality coaching and regular competitive opportunities for young players.
The club expressed their excitement, stating, “This seal of approval from the LTA is huge for the club and coaching team. This recognition places Riverside among some of the top coaching programmes in the country, marking a significant milestone in the growth of the club.”
LTA Youth is a modern approach to tennis training, focusing on energetic and fun sessions where players are always active and challenged. Julie Jones, LTA Delivery Manager, commended the club’s achievement, saying, “I am delighted that the club’s tennis team has gained this prestigious award. Witnessing numerous junior players benefiting from this innovative approach week after week has been truly inspiring.”
This latest recognition adds to Riverside’s list of accomplishments, including being named LTA Wiltshire Club Of The Year for the fourth time in February. Coach Mike Barry was also awarded Wiltshire Development Coach Of The Year in 2023, and the club was named South and South West Regional Club Of The Year in 2021.
On the court, Riverside has had its most successful season yet, with the men’s first team winning the Southampton League Division One Title and the Solent Cup. Players such as Sam Harris, Jake Russell, and Mike Barry have all played key roles in the team’s success.
