Bay College Sweeps Delta College, Improves to .500
Bay College baseball team showed their dominance over Delta College this weekend with a four-game sweep, bringing their record back to .500. The Norse displayed their offensive firepower and solid pitching throughout the series, outscoring Delta 31-13 in the four games.
In the first game, Bay College came from behind to secure a 5-2 victory. Josh Blake’s two-run home run tied the game, and George Cooper’s two-run double gave the Norse the lead. Hunter Ballantyne pitched a gem, allowing just two runs and striking out eight in seven innings.
The second game saw Zach Gibson and Tyler Darmogray contributing with key hits to lead the Norse to a 5-1 win. Darmogray’s heads-up baserunning helped extend the lead, while Cooper’s strong pitching performance kept Delta in check.
Bay College continued their offensive onslaught in the third game, winning 9-2. Andres Franco and Jace Cota provided the big hits, while Aedan Creten sealed the victory with a three-run home run. Lorenzo Feliciano’s dominant pitching performance, with 11 strikeouts in seven innings, secured the win for the Norse.
In the final game of the series, Bay College emerged victorious with a 12-8 win. Charlson Croes, Darmogray, and Zac Gomersall all contributed offensively to secure the sweep. Thijs Rijpstra earned the win on the mound, with solid relief pitching from Bill Hosegood and Gomersall.
The Norse will look to carry this momentum into their upcoming series against Community Christian College. With their bats hot and pitching staff performing well, Bay College is poised for continued success in the remainder of the season.
