Manon De Roey Secures Second Ladies European Tour Title with Dominant Victory
Belgium’s Manon De Roey showcased her golfing prowess as she clinched her second Ladies European Tour title with a commanding four-shot victory at the South Africa Women’s Open on Sunday. De Roey entered the final round with a three-shot lead on 14-under par and managed to navigate the challenging windy conditions at Erinvale, ultimately carding an even-par round of 70 to seal the win.
De Roey got off to a solid start, notching a birdie on the par-5 seventh hole, but stumbled with a bogey on the par-3 eighth. However, she quickly regained her composure with another birdie on the ninth, extending her lead to five shots. Despite facing pressure from her competitors, De Roey maintained her poise, stringing together eight consecutive pars before a late bogey on the 18th.
Following her victory, De Roey was celebrated by fellow competitors Austria’s Christine Wolf and English trio Ellie Givens, Liz Young, and Hannah Burke. In second place, New Zealand’s Momoka Kobori and England’s Gabriella Cowley finished on 10-under par, with Cowley also securing the Sunshine Ladies Tour Order of Merit.
