Oakland Athletics Rally to Victory Over Baltimore Orioles as Closer Craig Kimbrel Blows Second Save

In a dramatic series-deciding game, the Oakland Athletics rallied to a 7-6 victory over the Baltimore Orioles, thanks in part to closer Craig Kimbrel’s struggles on the mound.

Kimbrel, who blew his second save in as many opportunities, had a rough outing as he threw six straight balls to open his appearance. After a visit from Orioles manager Brandon Hyde and the medical staff, Kimbrel gave up a home run to Kyle McCann before exiting the game with a possible injury.

With the win, the Athletics wrapped up their 10-game road trip with four victories and will now head home to face the Pittsburgh Pirates. Meanwhile, the Orioles will look to bounce back as they begin a four-game series against the New York Yankees.
