Rand Park High School Boys’ Hockey Team Excels at NWU Hockey Clinic
Rand Park High School’s first-team hockey boys had a weekend to remember at the North-West University (NWU) Hockey Clinic held at the Potchefstroom campus. The intensive training sessions provided by the university proved to be a valuable experience for the 16 boys from Rand Park, as they geared up for the upcoming season.
Guided by experienced coaches and mentors, the players had the chance to showcase their skills and compete against other schools at the 2024 senior camp. The team’s performance was nothing short of impressive, winning six out of their seven matches during the event. Victories against tough opponents like Hoërskool Wesvalia and EG Jansen demonstrated their determination and skill on the field.
The recent sponsorship of their playing kit added a new level of style and confidence to the team. Principal Alan Wilke expressed his gratitude to sponsor Graeme Hamilton-Reid of Chas Everitt Randpark Ridge for supporting the boys and their sporting endeavors.
First team captain Siba Ntlangeni shared his thoughts on the clinic, stating, “The tour to Potch was amazing. The team learned a lot and grew more because of all the coaching that was provided at the clinic, and I am proud of my team.”
Rand Park High School continues to make waves in the sports world, with their hockey team’s success at the NWU Hockey Clinic setting the stage for a promising season ahead. Stay tuned for more updates on their journey to victory.
