Tragedy Strikes Boxing World with Passing of Heavyweight Boxer Ardi Ndembo

The boxing world is in mourning following the tragic passing of heavyweight boxer Ardi Ndembo, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a brutal knockout loss earlier this month. The 27-year-old father of two was left unconscious for several minutes after being stopped by Nestor Santana in their Team Combat League clash in Florida.

Ndembo was rushed to a Miami hospital, where he remained in an induced coma before tragically passing away. The promotion, Viva Promotions, released a statement expressing their sorrow over the loss of the talented Congolese boxer.

Fans and fellow boxers alike took to social media to pay tribute to Ndembo, with many offering their condolences and prayers to his family and friends. A fundraiser has been set up to help cover funeral costs, with WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney and Team Combat League pledging to match donations up to the goal amount.

Jeff Mayweather, who was ringside for the fatal bout, spoke about the risks involved in boxing, emphasizing that while it is a brutal sport, any sport carries its own dangers. The unique format of Team Combat League adds an extra layer of excitement to the sport, with combatants competing in squads over one or two rounds.

Ndembo, who boasted a perfect 8-0 record before the fatal bout, was representing Las Vegas Hustle when he was knocked out by Miami Assassin’s Santana. The boxing community is coming together to remember Ndembo’s legacy and support his loved ones during this difficult time.
