Yogita Bali Extends Support for Hockey India’s Initiatives: National Women’s Hockey League 2024-25

Former Indian Women’s Hockey Team goalkeeper, Yogita Bali, has voiced her strong support for Hockey India’s initiatives to promote the sport at all levels, particularly the upcoming National Women’s Hockey League. Scheduled to kick off in Ranchi, Jharkhand from April 30 to May 9, the league is set to showcase the best talent from the 14th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2024.

Yogita emphasized the significance of the league as a major step forward for women’s hockey in India, providing a platform for players to display their skills and gain valuable experience in high-pressure situations. She also highlighted the league’s role in preparing players for the Hockey India League (HIL), serving as a crucial training ground for aspiring athletes.

In addition to the league, Hockey India’s commitment to nurturing talent is evident through its grassroots development program, which includes specialized camps for young goalkeepers and drag-flickers across the country. Yogita praised this initiative, noting the opportunity for young athletes to learn from former players and excel in their respective positions.

Looking ahead to the 2024 Paris Olympics, Yogita expressed confidence in the Indian Men’s Hockey Team despite their recent series loss against Australia. She believes the team has a strong chance of finishing on the podium and views the recent defeat as a learning opportunity to refine their strategies and elevate their performance for the upcoming quadrennial event.

Overall, Yogita Bali’s support for Hockey India’s initiatives and her optimism for the future of Indian hockey reflect her dedication to the sport and her belief in the potential of Indian athletes to succeed on the global stage.
