Fayetteville Gymnasts Set to Compete in Eastern National Championship
Fayetteville’s Countryside Boys Gymnastics is making waves as two of their talented gymnasts, Michael Adame and Nicholas Caldwell, gear up to compete in the Eastern National Championship in Cleveland, Ohio this weekend.
The championship, scheduled for April 26-28 at Cleveland Public Auditorium, will showcase junior gymnasts from across the country, providing them with a platform to display their skills on a national stage.
Coach Antone Wright expressed his pride in Adame and Caldwell, stating, “They’ve been competing for a while, and now they’re starting to see the fruits of their labor.” Both gymnasts recently qualified for the national stage at the Regional championships, with Caldwell competing as a level 9 gymnast and Adame as a level 7.
Upon learning of their qualification, Caldwell and Adame were left speechless. Caldwell shared, “I just didn’t know what to say. It was the best feeling ever for me and my family. I’ve worked so hard.” Wright, who has witnessed their growth from a young age, added, “I’ve seen them since they were young kids falling off of the beams; now they’re here.”
While Adame is eager to see where gymnastics takes him after the championship, Caldwell has his sights set on securing a scholarship in the sport and ultimately competing at the highest level with hopes of reaching the Olympics.
The Countryside Boys Gymnastics team is proud to have Adame and Caldwell represent them at the Eastern National Championship, and their journey is one that will surely inspire aspiring gymnasts in Fayetteville and beyond.
