Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association scullers triumph at Victoria regatta

OPRA Rowers Dominate Cadborosaurus Coastal Endurance Regatta in Victoria, B.C.

The Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association (OPRA) members had a successful weekend in Victoria, B.C. as they competed in the Cadborosaurus Coastal Endurance Regatta. The team, consisting of Cooper Disque, Mason Mai, Quince Chanway, and Noah Oberly, along with coach Sean Halberg as the coxswain, showcased their skills and determination on the water.

In the Men’s Junior Quad event, the OPRA rowers dominated the competition, finishing the 5-kilometer course in an impressive time of 32 minutes and 33.6 seconds, securing first place in their division. Disque also had a strong showing in the Men’s Junior Single event, finishing third with a time of 27 minutes and 12.6 seconds.

Additionally, OPRA member WendyRae Johnson teamed up with Veronika Peacock of Victoria in the Women’s Open Double event, earning a second-place finish with a time of 35 minutes and 35.7 seconds. The team’s hard work and dedication paid off as they represented OPRA with pride and skill.
