Gladstone Freshman Cooper Sanville Leads Braves to Doubleheader Sweep Over Manistique
Freshman Cooper Sanville was the star of the show as Gladstone baseball swept Manistique in a doubleheader on Wednesday at Don Olsen Field. Sanville’s three-hit performance propelled the Braves to 7-1 and 10-0 victories over their opponents.
In the first game, Sanville kicked things off with a lead-off triple, setting the tone for the rest of the day. Senior John Soderman dominated on the mound, striking out the side in the first inning. The Braves offense came alive with key hits from players like Casey Alworden and Isaac Ketchum, giving them an early lead they never relinquished.
The Emeralds tried to rally with hits from Parker Graphos, Britt Frain, and Mack Pugh, but were unable to capitalize on their opportunities. The Braves continued to add to their lead, with Rex Kelley and Davin Mattonen coming up clutch with timely hits.
