IHSA Boys Basketball State Finals to Remain at State Farm Center Through 2029

The IHSA boys basketball state finals will continue to call Champaign home for the next five years, as the IHSA announced a new deal to keep the finals at State Farm Center through 2029. This decision comes after the successful return of the finals to Champaign and State Farm Center in 2022.

IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson expressed his excitement for the continuation of the state finals in Champaign-Urbana, stating, “Champaign-Urbana has a long legacy of producing top tier events that lead to lifelong memories for IHSA players, coaches, schools, and their fans.”

University of Illinois Athletic Director Josh Whitman also shared his enthusiasm for hosting the state finals, highlighting the positive experience that the Champaign-Urbana community has provided for teams over the past three years.

Experience Champaign-Urbana President and CEO Jayne DeLuce echoed the sentiments of Anderson and Whitman, emphasizing the outstanding fan experience and overall success of the state finals in Champaign.

In addition to the boys basketball state finals, the State Farm Center also hosts the IHSA Boys Individual Wrestling State Finals each February. The IHSA is currently in negotiations to extend the contract for the IHSA Girls Basketball State Finals at CEFCU Arena on the Illinois State University campus in Bloomington-Normal through 2029.

With the IHSA boys basketball state finals set to remain in Champaign for the foreseeable future, fans can continue to look forward to America’s Original March Madness taking place at State Farm Center.
