Adrian Newey, Chief Architect of Red Bull’s Title Dominance, Set to Leave Team Amid Controversy

Adrian Newey, the legendary Formula 1 designer, is reportedly set to leave Red Bull Racing amidst the controversy surrounding team principal Christian Horner. Newey, who has been with the team since 2005, has been instrumental in their incredible success over the past decade, helping them secure 13 world titles.

The 65-year-old designer is said to be unhappy with the situation at Red Bull following the allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior against Horner. Despite Horner being cleared of any wrongdoing by an internal investigation, Newey is believed to be unsettled by the power struggle that has ensued within the team.

Reports from both Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport and the BBC have confirmed Newey’s desire to leave Red Bull, with high-level sources close to the team verifying the information. This news has also raised concerns about the future of world champion driver Max Verstappen, who has expressed frustration with the situation.

While a Red Bull team spokesman has stated that they are unaware of Newey’s apparent desire to leave and that he is contracted until at least the end of 2025, speculation is rife about his next move. The BBC has reported that Newey is strongly linked with a switch to Ferrari, adding fuel to the rumors.

Newey’s departure would mark the end of an era at Red Bull, where he has been a key figure in their success. With his track record of championship-winning teams at Williams and McLaren, his next move will be closely watched by fans and the F1 community alike.
