India’s Cycling Dreams: Frenchman Kevin Sireau Leading the Charge for LA 2028 Olympics

India’s hopes of making a mark in the cycling program of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics are riding high on the expertise of Frenchman Kevin Sireau and a group of talented young cyclists who have already proven themselves on the Asian and world junior circuits.

Kevin Sireau, a two-time Olympic medallist, joined the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) in January this year, marking a significant step towards harnessing the potential of India’s cycling talent pool. With the support of the Union Sports Ministry, Sireau is leading the charge to propel Indian cyclists to international success.

The Indian team, led by cyclists Esow Alben, L Ronaldo Singh, Y Rojit Singh, and Jemsh Singh, has already made waves in the cycling world. They clinched a historic men’s team sprint gold at the 2019 World Junior Track Cycling Championship and have continued to excel on both the Asian and world stages.

Sireau, who has previously won silver medals at the Beijing and London Olympics, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Indian cycling team. He is confident in the potential of Indian cyclists like Ronaldo, Rojit, and David, who have shown promise by winning junior world championships.

The road to the 2028 Olympics will be challenging, but Sireau is optimistic about the team’s progress. With a focus on the upcoming world championships and a strategic roadmap in place, India is gearing up to make a mark on the international cycling scene.

The addition of Sireau to the coaching staff has already made a significant impact on the team, with cyclists noting improvements in training, nutrition, and recovery strategies. With a clear goal in sight and a dedicated team behind them, India’s cycling dreams are well on their way to becoming a reality.
