Gloucester to Rotate Squad for Rest of Premiership Campaign, Director of Rugby Skivington Says

Gloucester Rugby Director of Rugby George Skivington has revealed that the team will continue to rotate their squad for the remainder of the Premiership campaign in order to prepare for a strong showing next season.

Currently sitting in ninth place in the table with three games left to play, Gloucester has already been ruled out of contention for a top four finish. Skivington emphasized the importance of managing the squad smartly and giving players the right opportunities at the right time.

“We want to do some damage in the Premiership next season, and in order to do that, we need to be in a position to compete week in and week out,” Skivington stated in an interview with BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

The Cherry and Whites have faced a challenging season, marked by a club-record nine consecutive losses from October to January. Despite the setbacks, Skivington remains focused on building for the future and instilling a sense of pride in the team.

Looking ahead to next season, Gloucester could see significant changes in their lineup with the addition of players like Wales internationals Tomos Williams and Gareth Anscombe, as well as Racing 92 winger Christian Wade. The club has yet to confirm whether former England winger Jonny May will remain with the team.

As Gloucester looks to finish the current season on a positive note, Skivington’s strategic squad rotation and focus on building for the future could set the stage for a strong comeback in the upcoming Premiership campaign.
