Cumbrian bare-knuckle boxing fans are in for a treat this summer as local champions Danny Christie and Bartek Kanabey gear up for their upcoming fights in Newcastle.
Danny Christie, the reigning British light-heavyweight champion, will be stepping into the ring at middleweight for the first time to take on Jimmy Millar on June 8. Christie, hailing from Carlisle, recently defended his title against David Round and announced his decision to move down a weight class in pursuit of becoming the first British two-weight champion in BKFC history.
Joining Christie on the card is Bartek Kanabey, the Maryport puncher who has been making waves in the bare-knuckle boxing scene. Kanabey, also known as ‘the Polish Plough’, will be facing off against Jack Culshaw in a lightweight bout. Kanabey, who recently claimed victory over Bakhtyor Kudratov in Milton Keynes, is looking to continue his winning streak and solidify his status as a rising star in the sport.
The BKFC Prospect series event at Newcastle’s Walker Activity Dome promises to be an action-packed night of bare-knuckle boxing, with both Christie and Kanabey eager to showcase their skills and come out on top in their respective bouts. Fans can expect fireworks as these two Cumbrian fighters put it all on the line for glory and victory.
