Gareth Bale Joins Steph Curry’s ‘Underrated Golf’ as Ambassador for European Tour
Gareth Bale’s passion for golf has always been evident, even during his controversial latter years at Real Madrid. Now, the retired football star is taking his love for the sport to the next level by joining Steph Curry’s ‘Underrated Golf’ as an ambassador for its inaugural European Tour.
Bale, who recently retired after captaining Wales at the 2022 World Cup, has long been known for his love of golf. His infamous celebration behind a flag stating “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order” showcased his dedication to the sport. Despite the controversy it caused, Bale has continued to embrace his passion for golf.
Joining Curry’s golfing venture is the latest step in Bale’s golfing journey. After being courtside at a Golden State Warriors game and receiving a signed jersey from Curry, Bale teased the move on Instagram. Now, he is set to recruit athletes to play in Underrated Golf tournaments while offering guidance and support.
Bale’s involvement in junior golf is not new, as he has previously worked with Wales Golf to host tournaments for young athletes. Now, as an ambassador for Underrated Golf, he is excited to see young players showcase their skills at the upcoming European Tour event at Walton Heath Golf Course in May.
The tournament will feature 96 players aged 12 to 18 from across Europe, with two trophies up for grabs. The winners will advance to the Curry Cup Tour Championship in September. Bale’s role as an ambassador for Underrated Golf allows him to combine his love for the sport with his passion for creating opportunities for youth in Wales.
Overall, Bale’s involvement in golf continues to grow, and his partnership with Underrated Golf is set to bring exciting opportunities for young golfers across Europe.
